Ishigaki Mutsuyoshi Sensei, who lives in Sapporo,
Japan, was first Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu teacher from Japan visiting in Finland.
He was born in 1925 (Taisho 14) at Abashiri-kun,
Hokkaido. He learnt iaido from his father, the
late Ishigaki Hogaku (Toyotarô), who was a hanshi 10th
dan in iaido. Ishigaki Sensei got his shodan in iaido
in 1961 (Showa 36) at the age of 35. Before that he had
trained kendo for a long time, and in this art he is a 5th dan.

Ishigaki Sensei got his hanshi 10th dan degree from Zen
Nippon Iaido Renmei. He is one of the 10 Riji (member
of the board) of the Renmei and Kaicho (president) of the Hokkaido
Iaido Association. Ishigaki Sensei has a dojo, the
"Shudokan", in Sapporo, and he gives iaido lessons
twice a week in the evenings.

Ishigaki Sensei visited Helsinki, Finland, in September
1997. There was a four-day seminar and gradings.
